“There’s a threat to dump mountains of toxic soil in the beautiful community of Bacchus Marsh.
“This may be our last chance as a chamber – and as a parliament – that we have to correct the wrong that has been done.
“Our vote today may be the final opportunity to see democratic decency prevail.

“It is just inconceivable that in the State of Victoria there is not a flatter, drier, safer site that couldn’t have been found.
“The Government has rammed this through at lightning speed. The details of where to put the tunnel spoil should have been worked out years ago.
“There has also been a total lack of consultation with locals
“Moorabool Council has been reduced to putting in Freedom of Information requests to get information. They have shabbily treated at every turn.”
