UNCHARITABLE AUSSIE FARMS
Member for Western Victoria Region, Bev McArthur has welcomed the decision by the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) to revoke the charity status of Aussie Farms.
The animal activist organisation has published an interactive map detailing the location of livestock producing farms throughout Australia, including many farms in Western Victoria. The volunteer registration form asked applicants whether they would be willing to “enter private commercial properties for investigative purposes” and “do anything asked of them”, clearly encouraging criminal trespass.
Quotes attributable to Bev McArthur MP:
“It’s impossible to overstate how important agriculture is to Western Victoria Region; it’s the heart of our economy and the heart of our people. It defines our landscape, underpins our economy, and provides our livelihoods. From the coast to the plains, from seafood to cereal, it makes us what we are. The fertility of our soil and the ingenuity of our farmers makes us the food-bowl of Australia, and exporters to the world.”
“Aussie Farms clearly threatened this way of life by encouraging militant criminal behaviour in trespassing into the private property of agricultural businesses, with the publication of the location of over 400 properties in Western Victoria Region, to an audience of radical animal activist ideologues.”
“Hardworking rural families shouldn’t be burdened by the big hand of government and inequitable property taxing local councils, when this malicious animal activist group can run away scot-free by taking advantage of Commonwealth charity tax concessions.”
“Families shouldn’t have to live in fear of masked militants invading their properties, when it’s their businesses that are feeding and clothing the rest of the country.”
“Aussie Farms’ founder, Chris Delforce is hypocritical for not including his relatives’ family beef farm on his privacy-invading map, clearly recognising the potential for harm to be inflicted on those who have the addresses of their homes and business published.”
“Fortunately Mr Delforce’s mother is no longer on the payroll of the taxpayer as the Director of Agricultural Productivity and Food Security for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, while co-owning the website business that built the Aussie Farms website.”
“Clearly people are waking up to the fact that these animal activist ideologues aren’t about cute dogs and fluffy cats, but rather they intend to exploit the taxpayer and bring a total end to animal agriculture production that supports the livelihood and feeds so many.”
